I guess there is no human ever to exist who hasn’t been flodded with millions of thoughts before getting on the path to what they truly desire. Behind every action towards the right path, a person has to listen to unlimited voices in their head, fight their demons, leave behind what is holding them back and have a clear trajectory in mind. All these together constitutes to what we can call as “Taking the First Step”.

This is my first article on Medium (although I have written 3 technical posts). I know it may not be as refined or my not look professional, but at least I gathered the courage to take the First Step towards becoming an aspiring writer. It’s all that counts (At least as of now 😛)

A success is the result of many failures. Failure is something that should be embraced. Life has taught us to embrace it, because success requires patience, hard work, unlimited all nighters, loneliness, sadness and much more. The problem is, our society does not consider failure optimum. It is not appreciated. Everyone desires to be on the top of their field, but most people eventually gives up because they are not ready for the discomfort that it offers to achieve it. A successful person has probably failed more times that a beginner who has managed to succeed multiple times. But all of this starts with a single step. The moment you decide you have to do this, the moment you accept failure as an opportunity to widen your horizons is the day you have taken your first step.

I have experienced a turbulence of emotions over the past 1.5 years and I am grateful for it. Rather than crying over it, I solely focussed on what it is trying to teach me and eventually ended up embracing it. When I was so much overloaded with emotions, I experienced a lot of things. Since It was a new experience for me and that too a horrible one, I started oversharing stuff with random people to ease my pain and take some burden off my chest. It felt good for the moment but I regret it as I shared so much of my personal life with just random people. I started feeling even bad. This exact feeling of being an emotionally unstable failure made me take my first step towards reading Books. I started reading Books and from there I got an idea of Journaling. You see, The first step I took to end my misery was start reading books which eventually led me to take another step i.e. to write Journal. Your Journal is your Best Friend. It will not judge you and you can be extremely honest. Through Journaling I created this habit of writing my own thoughts which eventually led me to this day, where I have officially started writing. I went so deep into writing that I actually started enjoying it. It’s all about the first step. Take the lead and answers will follow.

Although a brief one, but I hope whoever reads this, may get motivated and plan to take their first step towards the right direction. Your First step will definitely help you in your pursuit of true happiness and the Future you truly desire. All the Best!
